SJSEAS Youth Group

St. James/st. elizabeth ann seton YOUTH Group

Since 1992, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton has ministered to the youth of Northwest Omaha. High School youth activities serve the spiritual, educational, emotional and social needs of teenagers through both large group gatherings and retreats. Led by Jill Kreikemeier, youth ministry events are Eucharistic-centered, parent-driven and peer group-focused. Large group gatherings occur twice a month and are centered on prayer, relationships, and driven by the message of the Gospel. These gatherings are tons of fun and include games, service, prayer, music and snacks.  Teens are also encouraged to meet in small groups led by trained adult small group leaders to help meet their need to be understood, to belong, be transparent, engage in critical  thinking about life and faith as young Catholics, and their need for guidance.  CONTACT PERSON:  Jill Kreikemeier, Director of Youth Ministry, sjseasyouthministry@gmail.com

  • Large Group Leaders   – Parish adult volunteers serve in several areas of ministry including evangelization, catechesis, social justice and music ministry. Through regular involvement and commitment to regular activities, these volunteers provide leadership, support, knowledge of church teaching and the ministering presence of Christ to the teenagers of the parish.

  • High School Youth Ministry Participant  –  Working together with St. James, St. Elizabeth Ann has a variety of opportunities to meet your need to belong, to be understood, to grow in faith with other teens that you can trust and form lasting friendships.  Large group gatherings occur twice a month at St. Elizabeth Ann parish.  See the yearly calendar on the parish website for large group gathering dates.  Teens also have the opportunity to attend a fall and spring retreat, attend summer Steubenville conferences, and serve the parish and community through various events hosted by Youth Ministry.

  • Middle School Youth Ministry Participant - Similar to our high school ministry, we work with our middle school youth, grades 5th through 8th, to begin spreading the Gospel to a younger age. Fun, friendly and filled with faith, these gathering meet once a month at St. James. See the yearly calendar on either parish website for large group gathering dates.

  • Youth Ministry Support  – Providing support to key parish ministry efforts, these volunteers provide guided assistance “behind the scenes” in serving the overall goals of parish youth ministry. These invaluable supporters give time and talent to activities such as providing snacks for the night time meetings, providing assistance for special events and prayer ministry.
